I’ve written in the past about a simple boiler plate tsconfig for node applications.

Today, however, I want to talk about a more generic boiler plate that helps identify all of the options, so that it’s more easily configurable for different situations.

The tsconfig.json listed below is from Alex Lee’s create-cli-application project.

What I love about this approach is that it includes all of the possible values and their reasoning. Because while this information can be found by looking at the compiler options, this format seems much more intuitive and useful to me.

tsconfig.json

  "compilerOptions": {

Update: I realized today that the way to generate this template is by running tsc --init on a project. That will provide the default settings but with all of the lines for easier adjustments later. Et voilá.
